How the camps are designed

The Summer camp is run as a progressive 5 day course across the week. The timetable is fairly similar week to week, though coaches obviously adapt to the group. We have a minimum of 3 days so as not to disrupt the continuity of groups.

It is particularly important for beginners, that if you are booking less than 5 days, to please book from the Monday and not start in the middle of the week (other than the Tuesday after the bank holiday Monday). This will mean that girls don’t miss the basics or disrupt the flow for the rest of the group. If you are booking various days across different weeks, please start with a  Monday.

The October half term and Easter camp have a set number of girls per group to optimise what can be achieved over a few days. The focus is on fun and developing play for girls who are already familiar with the sport. We also have a beginners group for years 5 and 6 who would like to try out the sport. NB. These camps are not suitable for beginners above year 6.

At the camp

  • We have sticks for purchase for £90, boil and bite mouth guards for £5 which we can help fit, and goggles for hire for £10
  • We also have a number of sicks to borrow, however if your daughter is starting lacrosse at school it is worth buying a stick, to get used to and wear in throughout the camp
  • UK Lacrosse will come one day each week, giving advice about stringing and repairing of sticks, as well as selling lacrosse goods
  • Excel Sports run a multi-sports camp at the same venue through the year, which younger siblings might enjoy while your daughter plays lacrosse

Weather

We have managed to navigate the British weather for over 30 years and accommodate girls in groups indoors if there is heavy rain, returning to play outdoors through light to moderate rain. Safety is our main priority and something we would never compromise on.

Indoors activities consist of a mixture of lacrosse theory, lacrosse footage selected by the coaches and fun activities, tailored to each age group, with the aim of sticking to the topics scheduled so as to not miss out on learning. Our experienced lead coaches make contingency plans in the case that the original session cannot be conducted.

In the unlikely case that adverse weather conditions ever mean that we have to cancel individual days, we would not be able to offer a refund, but would give a credit for future camps.

That being said, it is essential that studs, trainers, change of clothes & waterproofs are brought each day.
